For members of the uniformed services, military retirees, and their eligible dependents, the Tricare program offers a managed and coordinated healthcare benefit experience. Yet upon reaching age 65, beneficiaries are disenrolled from Tricare managed care support and may elect health benefits coverage through traditional Medicare with a wraparound plan called Tricare for Life (TFL). This white paper explores an alternative approach based on the Employer Group Waiver Plan (EGWP) model. The paper is organized as follows:
