Lindsy Kotecki is a principal and consulting actuary with the Minneapolis office of Milliman. She joined the firm in 2009.
Lindsy is a trusted advisor and consultant to a variety of stakeholders in the health industry, including commercial health insurers, private Medicare plans, healthcare startups, and healthcare providers. She is a proactive and effective communicator with a reputation of reliability and effectiveness in delivering high value service to her clients.
Lindsy’s areas of expertise include benefit pricing and rate development, comprehensive population modeling of consumer choices and selection, utilization and cost benchmarking, feasibility studies, risk adjustment, and independent strategic review. She has been deeply involved in helping insurers and other stakeholders navigate healthcare reform under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). She also certifies Medicare Advantage bids, assists healthcare providers with payment analytics, and supports healthcare startups in analyzing and understanding key actuarial concepts related to the markets they serve.
More recently, Lindsy has focused on evaluating the actuarial implications and feasibility of potential future reforms to the US healthcare system. She has also been leading Milliman research efforts studying the impact of the COVID-19 economic recession on the composition and risk profile of enrollment across the full spectrum of US healthcare markets.
Lindsy is a frequent presenter at industry conferences and produces thought leadership on a variety of topics related to healthcare reform and the state of health industry. She recently completed a major study commissioned by the Society of Actuaries on the outcomes of the ACA in its first decade.
