This report on life insurance reviews the solvency and financial condition reports (SFCRs) for year-end 2024, published in 2025.
Our analysis of the European and UK life insurance market covers 660 companies from 32 countries and three territories, representing approximately £777 billion (€937 billion) of gross written premium (GWP) and approximately £7.311 trillion (€8.816 trillion) of gross technical provisions (TPs). This represents a 2% decrease in the number of companies, a 1% increase in gross TPs, and an 8% increase in GWP relative to our year-end 2023 SFCR report, suggesting that overall life insurance sales by premium amount were higher in 2024 than in 2023.
