Managed care is a delivery system used by the majority of Medicaid state agencies in the operation of their Medicaid programs. This report summarizes selected financial metrics of managed care organizations (MCOs) reporting on Medicaid for 2020, providing reference and benchmarking information used in routine analysis of the financial performance. The financial results are summarized on a composite basis for all reporting MCOs. The update also provides differences among various types of MCOs using available attributes defined in the reported financial statements.
